Concert Announcement: Dolly Parton
DOLLY PARTON SAYS “HELLO TO PHILADELPHIA” WITH SPECIAL PERFORMANCE AT WACHOVIA SPECTRUM ON NOVEMBER 18
TICKETS ON SALE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2 AT 10 A.M.
Dolly Parton, one of America's most beloved superstars, will make a triumphant return to Philadelphia for an unforgettable night of classics on Thursday, November 18 in an intimate setting in the Wachovia Spectrum. Parton, embarking on her most extensive tour in 20 years, the “Hello, I’m Dolly Tour,” will take the audience on an extensive tour of her eclectic songbook, and relive the songs from every era of her stunning, four decades-long career. Appearing with Parton will be special guests, The Grascals.
Tickets for this show go on sale Saturday, October 2 at 10 a.m. at the Wachovia Complex box office and all Ticketmaster locations.
Parton, who last performed at the Spectrum on August 28, 1985, is expected to perform as she's never performed before, dipping into every facet of her genre-defying musical career. Fan favorites like the early Appalachian songs that brought her to stardom, the hugely successful pop hits from the 70s and 80s, her work with Kenny Rogers, her favorite numbers from recent albums "Little Sparrow" and "The Grass is Blue" (the most critically acclaimed of her career), and brand-new material from her forthcoming album, "Blue Smoke," will come to life on stage.
Opening act The Grascals, a band of accomplished Nashville musicians (formed officially in 2004 by the formidable talents of Terry Eldredge, Jimmy Mattingly, David Talbot, Jamie Johnson, Danny Roberts and Terry Smith), will join forces with an assortment of other fine musicians for Parton's new show.
Tickets at $57, $47 and $37 will go on sale at the Wachovia Center box office and all Ticketmaster locations throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region, as well as on line at ticketmaster.com or via phone charge at 215-336-2000 or 856-338-9000. Reserved parking for this event and all Wachovia Complex events is available through Ticketmaster. VIP and group packages are available by calling 215-389-9543. Friday, September 24, 2004
