How You Doin'? Wachovia Complex

American Idol Brings Phenomenon back to Wachovia Center Aug 13

With the search for the newest American Idol down to its final weeks, this season’s top 10 finalists will light up the Wachovia Center for the American Idols Live Tour on Wednesday, August 13 at 7 p.m. This year’s search put Philadelphia in the limelight last August when more than 20,000 hopefuls filled the Wachovia Center for a record-breaking audition. Tickets to see the newest tour priced at $42.50, $54.50, and $68.50 will go on sale Saturday, May 17 at 10 a.m. exclusively through ComcastTIX.com, 1-800-298-4200, and the Wachovia Complex Box Office.

The seventh season of the annual smash-hit talent show on FOX will crown its newest champion on Wednesday, May 21. America will choose between the final trio of talented singers: rocker David Cook, teen heartthrob David Archuleta, and underdog Syesha Mercado. The three finalists battling for the title of American Idol join this season’s top 10, who make up what has been called the most talented American Idol cast.

Top 10 finalist Kristy Lee Cook returns to the Wachovia Center for the first time since auditioning on August 27, 2007 when she first proved her talents to the judges in Philadelphia. Cook traveled from her native home in Oregon to rise above the rest of the Philadelphia hopefuls and living her dream all the way to the final 10.

Joining Kristy Lee Cook, David Cook, Archuleta, and Mercado on tour as America’s next superstars will be fellow American Idols finalists Brooke White, Carly Smithson, Chikeze, Jason Castro, Kristy Lee Cook, Michael Johns, and Ramiele Malubay as they perform for the diehard Idol fans of the Greater Philadelphia Region.

Season Seven of American Idol concludes on Wednesday, May 21 where the next American Idol will be crowned. Past champions of the hit television series have included Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, and last year’s Jordin Sparks. Previous American Idol Tours have showcased artists who have sold over 35 million albums, won 12 American Music Awards, five Grammys and one Oscar.
